Manager Execution Onshore Porthos
About Porthos
Porthos is a project designed to transport CO2 from industry in the Port of Rotterdam and store it in depleted gas fields beneath the North Sea. The CO2 transported and stored by Porthos will be captured by various companies. These companies will feed their CO2 into a pipeline running through the Rotterdam port area. The CO2 is then pressurised at a compressor station, after which it is transported via an offshore pipeline to a platform in the North Sea, approximately 20 km off the coast. From this platform, the CO2 is pumped into a depleted gas field. The depleted gas fields are located in a sealed reservoir of porous sandstone, more than 3 km beneath the North Sea. The project is expected to start up in the second half of 2027. The aim is to store approximately 2.5 million tonnes of CO2 per year for at least 15 years.
At Porthos, we work in multidisciplinary teams comprising experts from the parent companies EBN, the Port of Rotterdam Authority and Gasunie, alongside independent professionals.
Job Description

You will operate in an environment that demands the highest level of execution, where complexity, pace and decision-making converge. At the same time, this role offers a unique opportunity not only to realise a technically complex system, but to actually make it operational and thereby make a tangible contribution to the energy transition.
This position is for 36–40 hours per week for a period of 1 year. The project site is located on the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam and the office is at George Hintzenweg 89 in Rotterdam, a 5-minute walk from Alexander railway and metro station. Working from home is possible to a limited extent; attendance at the project or office site for 4 days a week is required.

- Drawing up, monitoring and adjusting execution and commissioning schedules, including critical paths, risks and mitigations.
- Managing multidisciplinary teams within and outside Porthos.
- Ensuring safe execution in accordance with the defined standards for this project, including monitoring HSE performance.
- Preparing and carrying out pre-commissioning and commissioning, including test procedures, system handovers and documentation.
- Supporting the transition to start-up, including handover to operations and aftercare, whilst the operational department is relatively inexperienced and still being established.
- Reporting to the Project Director on progress, risks, issues and decision-making requirements.
- Stakeholder management with regard to internal teams, contractors, suppliers and the operational organisation.
- Ensuring the timely handover of systems in accordance with quality and compliance requirements.
Profile

- Results-oriented, decisive and able to motivate and unite teams.
- Strong focus on safety, quality and compliance
Job requirements
