Last night, an important milestone was reached in the Porthos project: a successful pull-in brought the offshore CO\u2082 pipeline ashore.<\/p>\n

In April 2024, LMR Drilling carried out the first drilling under the hard seawall. This horizontal directional drilling (HDD) paved the way for the pull-in of the offshore pipeline through a protective jacket pipe.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Allseas’ pipeline vessel Lorelay was positioned at sea. From there, the pipeline was coupled to drilling rods, after which pull-in began – a carefully planned operation lasting more than 48 hours. The pull-in was successfully completed and the Lorelay began the next phase: laying the marine pipeline in the Maas channel, the shipping channel to the port of Rotterdam.<\/p>\n

This progress is the result of strong cooperation and clear communication between Allseas, Porthos, LMR Drilling, DHMR, Rijkswaterstaat and the pilots, as well as the deployment of a professional on- and offshore inspection team. With this step, we are again closer to our goal: safe and sustainable CO\u2082 storage in the North Sea.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
