The project aims to construct a pipeline in the Rotterdam port area, to which multiple companies can connect. The Porthos infrastructure is set up as an open access and non-discriminatory system.<br \/><br \/>Porthos works toegether with four potential customers. Below you will find more information about the commercial process. At the moment no new companies can participate in Porthos, no storage capacity is available. This so-called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.porthosco2.nl\/en\/porthos-aims-to-close-cooperation-agreements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Expression of Interest procedure<\/a> showed that companies had sufficient interest to further develop the project. Porthos then started to focus on closing Joint Development Agreements with companies. <span class=\"LineBreakBlob BlobObject DragDrop  BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><span class=\"BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><span class=\"SpellingError  BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun  BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"LineBreakBlob BlobObject DragDrop  BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><span class=\"BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><span class=\"TextRun  BCX1 SCXW142826065\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun  BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><strong>Joint Development Agreement\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\r\n<p class=\"p1\">With the Joint Development Agreement (JDA), Porthos and the companies agree to \u2013 in short \u2013 jointly work towards the conclusion of transport and storage contracts.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p1\">In the autumn of 2019, Porthos has signed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.porthosco2.nl\/en\/porthos-a-step-closer-four-companies-prepare-co2-capture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">JDAs<\/a> with Air Liquide, Air Products, ExxonMobil and Shell. Those four companies are called the JDA partners. In the first JDA, Porthos committed to continue with the permit procedures and the technical preparation of the project. The companies committed to start with the permit procedures and the design of their capture installations.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p1\">In the fall of 2020, the sequel to the first JDA was signed: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.porthosco2.nl\/en\/porthos-and-companies-press-ahead-with-ccs-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">JDA2<\/a>. In this agreement, Porthos and the four aforementioned parties have agreed to keep working together towards the realisation of definite transport and storage contracts.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p1\">Regular contacts are maintained on an informative basis with companies that are interested in Porthos, but were not yet able to conclude a JDA in the autumn of 2019.<span class=\"LineBreakBlob BlobObject DragDrop  BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><span class=\"BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><span class=\"TextRun  BCX1 SCXW142826065\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun  BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"LineBreakBlob BlobObject DragDrop  BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><span class=\"BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><span class=\"TextRun  BCX1 SCXW142826065\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun  BCX1 SCXW142826065\"><strong>Transport and storage contract\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\r\n<p>The JDA partners were granted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.porthosco2.nl\/en\/dutch-government-supports-porthos-customers-with-sde-subsidy-reservation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SDE++ subsidy<\/a> in the spring of 2021. The SDE++ subsidy is necessary to bridge the difference in costs for ETS and the total costs for capture, transport and storage of CO<sub>2<\/sub>. This helps the companies to remain competitive while contributing to achieving the Dutch Climate Agreement objectives.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p1\">Porthos and JDA partners signed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.porthosco2.nl\/en\/rotterdam-companies-and-porthos-sign-contracts-for-transport-and-storage-of-co2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">definite transport and storage contracts<\/a> in December 2021.
